Southwest Healthcare Palmdale Regional Medical Center Announces Appointment of Chief Operating Officer, Chantel Pizarro
Southwest Healthcare Palmdale Regional Medical Center has appointed Chantel Pizarro, MBA, as Chief Operating Officer.
Chantel has been in healthcare leadership for the past 9 years. In her most recent role, she was the Chief Operating Officer of Southern California Hospital at Culver City, a 453-bed acute care hospital with 103 behavioral health beds. She had direct oversight of the hospital’s emergency management and safety program and was an advocate for patient and staff safety.
Previously, Chantel served as the Associate Vice President of Ambulatory Operations for Tenet Healthcare Detroit Medical Center. She had oversight of adult and pediatric hospital-based clinics, the market patient transfer and access centers and market technology and access operations. In these roles she was responsible for improving operating metrics and driving financial and strategic growth of high acuity service lines.
Chantel will be a great addition to the Southwest Healthcare Palmdale Regional Medical Center family as she brings extensive experience in acute care, behavioral health and rehabilitation health. She will work with the team to continue to revitalize quality measures and service excellence. Chantel will be responsible for operations and her focus will be on Emergency Services and other support services.
Chantel earned a master’s degree in business administration and certification in health sector management from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in Durham, North Carolina. She holds a Lean Six Sigma license from the Institute of Industrial Engineers and a bachelor’s degree in business economics and communication from the University of California in Santa Barbara, California. Chantel was awarded the Collective Diversity award from Fuqua for her work to develop graduate programming aimed at fostering inclusive business practices.
