Palmdale Regional Medical Center Awarded Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission
Palmdale Regional Medical Center announced that it has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification.
Palmdale Regional underwent a rigorous review in May. During the visit, a Joint Commission reviewer evaluated compliance with related certification standards including an in-depth virtual review that focused on a variety of stroke protocols and the hospital’s care of the stroke population. A Joint Commission expert evaluated the stroke program’s adherence to best practice and stroke related standards and requirements, including Clinical Information Management, Performance Measurements, Program Management, Supporting Self-Management, and the Delivering and Facilitating of Clinical Care. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts and patients.
