2025 Rose Parade CEO Rose Dedication and Floragraph Unveiling at Southwest Healthcare Palmdale Regional Medical Center

Friday, January 3, 2025

Organ donation organization One Legacy was at Palmdale Regional Medical Center on Friday, December 6, at 10:30 a.m., in the Palm Café to host the CEO Rose Dedication Ceremony and to honor Corroundlet Sheard, Palmdale Regional Medical Center patient and organ donor, by unveiling the floragraph created in her honor.

The CEO Rose Dedication brought awareness to the hospital’s efforts in organ donation that helps bring life and health to thousands of people waiting on a donor list. The 2025 Rose Parade’s One Legacy Organ Donation float will feature Palmdale Regional’s dedicated rose, among many other dedicated roses, as well as a floragraph of former patient and organ donor, Corroundlet Sheard.

Corroundlet is being honored as a woman who had a big heart and made the decision to check the “yes” box to be a donor. Her family notes that, “The woman who loved to talk kept a big secret, and the secret was Corroundlet Sheard said, ‘Yes’. She was a Donor.”

Organ, eye and tissue donation in the United States is more than just a pink donor dot on your driver’s license – there is a well-established and experienced network of federally-designated, non-profits across the country, called Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), all working together to save lives. OneLegacy is the nation’s largest OPO, serving the diverse Southern California region. Working with hospitals, physicians, transplant centers and the community, OneLegacy educates about and facilitates donation, as well as builds a community of long-term support for the families who give the generous gift of life.
