An anesthesiologist is a physician who provides care to patients throughout their surgery. This includes performing medical evaluation before surgery, consulting with the surgical team, providing pain control and support of life functions during surgery, supervising care immediately following surgery and medically discharging patients from the recovery unit.
Ambulatory Anesthesia
The majority of surgical procedures are performed on an ambulatory, or outpatient, basis. Cardiovascular Anesthesiology
The team of cardiovascular anesthesiologists at Palmdale Regional Medical Center is well-versed in complex thoraco-abdominal aortic reconstruction and aortic arch surgery involving hypothermic arrest, as well as in routine cardiac, thoracic and major vascular surgical cases. These procedures employ many of the latest techniques in monitoring and management, including the use of EEG and transesophageal echocardiography.
Pain Center
The Pain Management team at Palmdale Regional Medical Center performs inpatient and outpatient consultation for acute and chronic pain disorders. The Pain Management team's services include epidural, patient-controlled analgesia for postoperative pain, medication management, therapeutic and diagnostic blocks and implanted devices.
